Well finally got around to installing 8.04 - since it is so hard to find the time to keep these pages up to date with how I have install applications and other - I´ve decided to mainly link to the support pages I have found of use for the particular task.
Basic Samba setup - as you maybe aware samba allows you to share files between 2 computers in this case one operating under windows and the other ubuntu.

No Sound after using flash video on the web - After playing a flash video, the CPU usage will go peak to about 80 percent and remain there until Firefox is closed. Also, while firefox is still open, no other programs will have access to the sound system. Solution - $sudo apt-get install libflash-mozplugin libflashsupport. Full details.
